580- average math score for asians!

a 600 in CR is 76 percentile and a 600 in Math is a 67 percentile but for African americans those same scores are 94 percentile, which shows that African americans so much worse on the SAT. I am African American also. If an african american does well on the SAt like 2000+...i guess thats why IVY league colleges might be quick to accept them

430 is the average for african americans in math and CR

...who cares? We all pretty much knew the stats would be similar to this.

I know we all knew they and we also know that there are completely different situations.

What strikes me as unusual is not so much the ethnic differences but the fact that 100,000 more girls than boys took the test. Weird.

The strangest things I see on there:
1. 100,000 more females took the test
2. males mean score is 44 points higher than females.
3. only the mean scores of whites and asians are above 500

well guys are less likely to go to college, in the future we'll probably have an Under represented gender, lol./

Actually, I think that the facts that 1) more girls took the test, and 2) boys scored higher are consistent with each other.

I think that we can reasonably assume that top students of both genders would take the test. The ones who are in a position to choose to take or not take it are the less qualified students. It appears that a far greater number of the less qualified girls than less qualified boys took the test. These girls would increase the number of their gender who take the test while at the same time lowering the overall averages.

For a meaningful comparison of the two genders, I think we would need to see a comparison between all the boys and the top 680,000 girls.

who cares about all this as long as you get into college.
