SAT Physics and Math Level 2 books

I don't know if there is a thread that covers this topic but I would like to know form your knowledge or experiences which books are the best to buy concerning these topics. I am in an academic system which doesnt teach all the topics needed to do well in the exams so I would like to know which books to buy that would give me the best possible chances of getting a good grade

Barrons is overkill but it might be good if you don't feel all of the topics have been covered at school.

definately barron's for math II C.
for physics choose between barron's and princeton review. they're both good.

Barron's Physics sux!!!
Barron's Math 1c and 2c rocks!!
As simple as that

Take for example, in Barron's Physics, they have nothing but Left Hand Rule for every friggin' example!!! while the actual test to be done is infact the Right hand Screw rule for direction of current in a solenoid!!
BArrons ruined me but only in Physics!!

So I am definately getting the Barron's Math book but what about physics? Should I get the Princeton Review book or is there another one out there that I should get

Barrons math book sucks bad! over 50% of the stuff wont eevn come on the exam! I think sparknotes is the best prep. their 5 practice tests are VERY similar to the real thing. Just because barrons is harder doesnt mean you will get an 800 from it. Sparknotes does a good job if you prep well with it.

Get Princeton Review for physics. It's completely adequate, contains only what you need for the SAT Subject Test, no more. Which is of course ideal.

Looking back on those few sentences, I seem like some sort of PR fanatic. But I'm not, I just used their books (for chemistry and physics) and did fine. Oh, and I also used Barron's for Math IIC. Agree that it's complete overkill, but then again that's not bad thing.

PR for Physics sucks too. I'd prefer Sparknotes for this one too. Kaplan is great as well, but their practice tests are easy.

PR seems like its been a pretty good review so far for Physics...very thorough I thought (about 185 pages into it now out of 260). Why would you say that?

I have heard horror stories about Barron's Physics, though.

Seems like PR is the way to go for physics. While I see the point of Barrons being overkill, I have seen a great deal more success stories from the book than bad. I do good in math anyway its just that I need to learn the material.

So what is the actual name of the Barrons book?

I got the book 5 more practise tests for the SAT II math IIc...(sparknotes)...Are the tests realistic? I was nervous because it had some really bad reviews on amazon...

For physics I got PR. It looks pretty good...I'm hoping I will do okay using it...

Are you guys taking it in 5 days (like me)? I definitely started studying a little late, but I'm hoping I can pull around 720 on the Physics (i got a 660 the first time).

No I am going to take them in January... :-)

I was going to take them in December but I decided to give myself more practise time...

Ha, damn... I intended to study all summer, but I am a procrastinator, so last Wednesday I bought the study books :o. Oh well, last time I got a 660 on Physics pretty much completely cold, so I think I should be able to raise that with all this studying.

barron's math level 2 is horrible, period. absolutely ridiculous. why slave over things like cis and things that most people can barely even comprehend for a test that wont even cover anything clooooose to it? it's not worth it

go for sparknotes and kaplan. those are tests are probably a lot more realistic. study as much from those two books, and maybe some more from princeton to hit up all the spots. then take a practice test from the real sat subject tests -- that should be adequate preparation

I'm sure you will do fine...

I did the same with the PSAT...I wanted to do really well on it for summer programs, etc. between my junior and senior year (coughrsicough) but I only started studying my book like a week before the test...

I really have no problem with learning more than necessary because I like Math anyway. I did pre cal in grade 11 and I'm in my first year doing IB math so I wouldnt mind. I just want to know which books to get as soon as possible because I'm taking the tests soon and the books arent available in stores over here because only a handfull take it. I'm ordering them online so I want to have them as soon as possible

As has been stated many times already, go with Barron's. period.
