SAT Physics + Engineering (Need Penn student advice ASAP)

Hi,

Basically I have not taken the Physics SAT Subject Test because I took Math Level 2 (800) and Chemistry (760) in June. Penn's website says that SAT Physics is strongly recommended for engineering students to take, so I emailed admissions and they gave a generic response saying that it was very important to take it.

So Penn students, do the majority of engineers take SAT physics to enter? I have solid Math and Chem scores, but admissions says that I really should take physics. I want to know before I devote the summer to learning the material because my class last year was a joke.

Thanks a lot for anyone that has ANY info!

And I will be taking AP Physics C mechanics senior year.

My S was in the same position. AP physics C and EM wasn’t until Senior year, he didn’t feel he would do his best taking it so he didn’t. He did take the ACT though. He was accepted into Engineering. Have you taken the ACT?

Yeah I have, 35 composite with a 35 in Science… I’ll look over some physics prep books and see if I can get a 750+ in practice, otherwise I’ll just hope for the best in the ED round… Thanks for the help though! (E&M isn’t offered at my school so maybe SAT Physics might be helpful)
