SAT Physics June 2012

what was the heat transfer one in a plastic cup, was it 3W?

for the thermometer, was the temperature reading 76.0 Celsius?
for the sig digs one, was it the one with 3 sig digs? 21.0

Idk, I think I ommitted those
6 wrong 4 omit…

Actually 7 wrong

Chances of getting an 800 are dwindling

And you’re right for the sig figs question

@katniss 3W, something .0 (forgot the first 2 digits), and 3 sig figs for the multiplication one

does anyone remember the question which talked about something dropping from a plane>
was it potential energy?

yea it was 1000 feet high or 50 m/s , potential energy greater than kinetic energy

@katniss: yo isnt the temperature reading 76.02 Celsius?

no, the smallest line measured to .5 celcius, so you only have enough accuracy to guess the tenth digit, .0

Wouldn’t it be all potential energy and not “more potential than kinetic”?
They didn’t give the velocity with which the person jumped, so it should all be potential

No he and the plane were moving

How do u find the voltage with the capicatance, time, and current?

^it is potential because the speed was only 50, and u were like 1000m high above.

And did u get 26.02 celcius for the mercury? And 3 sig fig for the calculating the area? (dont remember the exact numbers)

My D had Honors Physics junior year and said she didn’t know any of the magnetism on this test. Feels like she did awful. Very positive about the math II, though! She’s taking AP Physics senior year, although retaking the subject test will probably be too late for college applications.

i am in honors physics as well and we did not learn ANY magnetism this year. such bs.

wat is the scale after 800?.. like say 17 wrong?

Me as well. Our honors class didn’t go over any magnetism/thermo-physics/modern physics. I had to self study it in about a week. I’m definitely weak in those subjects.

@Dude; I’ve heard that the two released SAT Physics tests had curves of -12 for an 800 and -16 for an 800. So a seventeen is slightly optimistic. However…I’ve heard that this test was especially harder than past tests so hopefully we’ll have a generous curve :D.

800 is about 13~11 wrong (no omits)
