SAT Physics vs. SAT Chemistry

Hey guys,

I have taken one year of each honors chemistry and honors physics, but no AP courses in either subject (my school doesn't let us take AP science until senior year). I know I need to take one or the other in order to apply for most Engineering schools, but I don't know which to pick.

Which test is "harder"? Which test would make more sense to self study for a June test? And also, which test books make the most sense?

Thanks guys!!

SAT Chemistry is easier than SAT Physics in general…there are many reasons but SAT Chemistry’s curve is not harsh as SAT Physics.

Princeton Review’s model tests are really close to the actual exam. Barron’s is just very hard to solve, and Spark Notes’ prep tests are easier than actual test.

I think you have been misinformed. The Physics SAT curve allows a -12 in raw score for an 800 while chem is usually -4 or -5. I will be receiving my SAT Physics score on thursday, and I also self studied everything except Kinematics (not involving Rotational motion or Laws of Gravitation). So, if I do well, I will be back to offer advice on how I did it.

i will check in with you schoolisfun… i am decent at physics… and i was considerin taking the subject test.

Thanks guys! I think I’ll end up going with Physics SAT. Good luck with your scores tonight!!

Which prep books would you guys suggest? For both Physics and Chem?
