I got a 1790. Reading- 670 Writing- 610 Math- 510. I just took a practice test at home on my laptop, I was talking throughout it and I took breaks between the sections. Is this a good score? I’m not college obsessed like some of the 8th graders on here, I was just really bored and wanted to see what I’d get! I didn’t prepare for it at all. What do you guys think I’ll get when I actually take it as a junior? Thanks!
That is a respectable score considering you’re an eighth grader. It’s above the average, but certainly not up to par with the your fellow CCers 
. Studying is crucial when taking the sat/act; I think if you study well (i.e. actually pay attention to the stuff that your studying) you’ll achieve whatever score you want. It’s all based on how much time you want to devote to it.
Yeah, to be on eight grade you did well. The bad thing is that the SAT will be redesigned for next year. Studying is crucial for both test SAT and ACT. Just a curious question, have you taken the ACT?
Thank you Dylan197! Haha, I know, some of the scores on here are very high! Considering I wasn’t really focused that much, I think my score is ok. Definitely not as high as some of the students on here. Of course I’ll study once I take the real test, this was just an at home practice thing. Thank you for all your advice!
For 8th grade that is honestly excellent especially with no prep. By the time your junior year rolls around, and you practice more I would bet you will be scoring >1500 on the new SAT.

Then nothing to be scared. With prep, you will do great and try to work hard at school as well. You are a good test taker.
Just relax though honestly. You shouldn’t even be thinking about the SAT’s for atleast 2 or 2.5 years. Don’t get caught up in all the college nonsense before you haven’t even started high school. You have a long way to go
Haha trust me SternBusiness, I’m not caught up in it. Our math teacher told us about the site where we could take the test, and I figured I might as well do something productive since I’ve been on Netflix and Youtube all summer so far. I just made this CC account tonight so I could have someone’s opinion on my score since my parents never took the SAT. Thank you for all the advice!
