SAT practice test score?

I'm from England and without doing any sort of studying or school related things since mid June I took the SAT practice test available on their website. I had never done an SAT before.
I scored:
Writing: 530
Reading: 590
Math: 550
And got an overall score of 1670. Is this an okay score result for my first time? Or is it dreadful and I should reconsider sitting the SAT this January?

If you want to attend any college here in the us, that score may get you into 75% of the 4year colleges. What’s difficult is in order to get into some top schools you need as close to the 2400 full score as possible.

^as @artloversplus‌ said, ANY college in USA will be fine with those schools.

But for quality schools, 1670 is not a good score. Say, 2000 would be a decent score.

What book did you use?

Usually, the practice score minus 200 is about where you get in a real test.

Also, will you need FA? If so, that score will not get you anywhere.
However you have 4 months to prepare, with half term and Christmas holidays, so if you took it without any clue, work carefully on your errors until you never make them again, yes your scores would go up quite a bit.

^agreed.

In fact, only high top schools can provide decent amount of aid except some schools that give generous amount of OOS scholarship.

So for that, you should get at least 2200+…particularly work on CR and Math.
