Okay, I know that UVA requires you to take 3 SAT Subject tests . . . are there practice books for these? What is the best way to prepare, and how many times should I take them?

There are study guides at the bookstore for SAT II subject tests just like there are for the SAT I. These include practice tests.

Be careful which ones are required. Most colleges that required SAT II's used to require 3 with the SAT II Writing being one of them. However, the SAT II Writing is now obsolete since the New SAT has a writing section included, and so they may only be requiring 2 this year. It is also common to require either the SAT II Math IC or SAT II Math IIC. The Math IIC covers more material, and the scoring is vastly different on the two tests.

Okay, thanks. I'll have to make sure I take the right ones. Also, can you buy Collegeboard study books at any old bookstore, or do you have to order through the collegeboard? Anyone know?

UVA requires 2 with the new SAT. I don't think they are looking very heavily into the writing section as the admissions director made a statement about it.

They sell the guides at bookstores. Normally, they have a big section for SAT, SAT II, AP, and everything else. Look at a few and pick out the ones that you like. I would recommend the Sparks Notes ones, but it is a matter of personal preference.

thanks! :)
