SAT Prep Book Recommendation

Hi,

After feeling a lot of lack of confidence on how I did on the June SAT II's, I'm already planning a way to tackle the ones I'm going to take in November.

In November, I want to take either-

Math II (either this or US History again depending on how I did on US because I took it this month)
Literature
Chemistry
US History (if I did well on US History, I'll take Math II)

So which books do you recommend?

Math II- Barrons, RUSH, Kaplan?
Literature- PR and Barrons?
Chemistry- McGraw Hill?
US History- Amsco + Kaplan?

Any help please? >_<

Thanks.

USH just go AMSCO.
Math2 don't use Kaplan. Depending on how good you are you could choose b/t PR, Barrons, and RUSH.
Lit Barrons or PR.
Dunno about Chem.

Barron's lit is really really detailed. I didn't take an AP English class (school doesn't offer them) so I didn't know about a lot of the terms. After studying for a while, I decided not even to attempt the Lit.

In general, I think Barrons can over-prepare you, so I guess its up to you to decide if thats what you want.

I studied for the Chem one using Spark Notes. I thought it was pretty good.

if you are good at math do RUSH because it will prepare for the worst and won't waste your money with any stupid techniques, just 15 solid practice test... but Barrons is probably the best if you want good prep.

Ahh, thanks everyone!

Since I have 6 months to prepare (June-October), should I buy the books that would over prepare me? By no means am I under any time restraint, so I was thinking of consistently over-preparing myself with a book that was difficult yet had good review (since part of Math II I will probably teach myself).

I'm taking AP Chem next year but am taking the SAT II for it in November, same thing for AP Lit. So I would need a book that has comprehensive review too, correct?

Thanks >_<

For us history, i recommend amsco + barrons (rather than kaplan).
