<p>Never used it myself. Others say it is splendid though. I think you should give it a try if you already have it.</p>
<p>I recently purchased the Black Book for my D after reading many comments about it on CC and reading Amazon reviews. If you haven’t bought it yet, I suggest doing the same research. Note that it is meant to be used in conjunction with the Blue Book. The Black Book does not contain its own practice tests. I mainly bought it for D so that she could read his advice about critical reading, particularly the strategy for the passage based reading questions. I cautioned her that she shouldn’t necessarily buy into everything he says. For example, he says not to bother studying vocab, which I can’t believe is good advice. But I was impressed by his tips on CR questions. D has been doing very well on practice tests in math and writing, so CR seems to be the last remaining area she needs to focus on. Hopefully the Black Book will live up to its claims and help her raise her score.</p>
