Sat Prep class in Delhi

i did my sat II prep in wisdom mart earlier and scored not bad but not so good either.... the classes were not really good. Please suggest me a good class which would help me for sure. I do agree that sat can be given without taking classes but i'm homeschooled and many problems due to which i don't study on my own so i need to join a class. Thanks for your help

Hey, If you dont mind me asking how much did u score? and why did’nt you like wisdom mart cuz I am also looking for a place where i can join sat classes

i got 720 in physics, 650 in maths and 680 in chemistry and i did chemistry almost totally on my own …
i was expecting full score in physics atleast :frowning:
well, wisdom mart is good but there are no real classes , the teachers are sometimes busy in their own stuff and postpone classes too. i checked out jamboree education yesterday and i doesn’t seem to be good either …its hard to decide … do tell me if you get a nice one :)

Umm, you don’t really need a prep class to do well ! Self study !

@ mrinal2207 , yes i know its not compulsory but i have depression and other problems because of which i can’t study unless i’m in a class schedule. i hope you understand…

Mridul, how about princeton? Have u figured them out? I see alot of people going there for sat prep…

I didn’t get time to visit it last time i went delhi, i talked to the people in jamboree too. its not a good idea to spend 26000 for nothing .
which branch of princeton are you talking about ? there are about 2 or 3 of them right?
i didn’t think of going there because i read some bad reviews about them online. anyways, i think i’ll visit them once too.

One of my friend goes to the Gurgaon branch but I dont know how serious she is about giving SAT…
Are you serious they charge 26000? For how long does there 26000 course last, any idea?

i see, well try asking your friend if she is doing well with the practice tests and stuff…
yes, it was 26000 for 6 weeks and as soon as i finished talking they were like…“so would you like to pay cash or cheque” -__-

in wisdom mart i payed about 24000 for about 1 1/2 months … including the essay the reviewed and letter of recommendations (at that time i applied at MIT with just the sat II and toefl score) ofcourse i didn’t get selected

i guess i may go see princeton tomorrow, have you visited it yet?

Hey Mridul,
I am home schooled too and touch wood doing well in the practice tests.
I have a lot of resources that can help home schooled students do well.
Feel free to PM.

hey ppaayas , thankyou so much for your support ^^
i do have some resources too but as i told you earlier… its of no use until i study.
sorry if i’m being stubborn about it, but i messed up my ap exams because of it
i didn’t clear physics B and C , Calculus, biology and i got 4 in psychology , 3 in english , and still i don’t know about env. science
the bad thing is i knew each subject thoroughly but i started a bit too late, so i messed up the subjectives
hope to talk to you soon :)

I will get in touch with my friend soon, wow that’s ridiculous … No I have not visited them…
Let me know , how u find it tom. ! (:

You are welcome.
Yes, it is not an uncommon thing among home schooled kids, and that too someone battling problems.
I suggest you see your doctor again, because you might as well be having attention deficiency syndrome, it is a very real possibility but there is medicine which can help you out.
Best of luck!

I guess with respect to your specific circumstances you may prefer to take classes, but make sure you utilise all other (mostly free) resources well when you study at home! There’s loaaaaaads of great SAT prep material online, form Sparknotes to Khan Academy… Keep googling stuff, there are a lot of helpful links and sites. And keep practicing, solve as many tests as possible, especially official ones.
Remember, it’s no big deal… you can definitely do it with enough practice!
All the best!

ah, it’s quite embarassing but i admit that i study very less. in the entire day i just pass my time with guitar , or a movie or otherwise take care of animals… the medicine i used during my sat II doesn’t work now. I don’t get the urge to study at all which i used to get.
well, i don’t want to pull out my entire medical history on this forum :stuck_out_tongue: so yeah until forced, i don’t study normally, i mean not even read the book in weeks!
thanks IdleDevil, i am acquainted with those resources already but i appreciate it ^^

sorry it took me a long time to reply… i have enrolled in wisdom mart in preet vihar, didn’t join others cause they’re too freaking costly! and i just visited this branch… its really good, tomorrow i will have my diagnostic. so, hope this works out

Ah thats great! Plz keep us posted how they teach! And other things about d institute (:

sure  … today i gave my diagnostic, i wonder how i did :P

I’ve had some classes by now and so far its been going good… there are vocab classes, essay ones too … and for maths… hope it goes well in the end
and btw its really nice here so i would recommend this particular place to study for SAT

ah, thats nice … So do you have 3 different classes in one day and how long is the class and how many times a week ? I know too many questions but… :p
