Does anyone noe if elite is good?

Elite SAT prep, my friend (shoenberg3) went there and got a 2400, but my parents were not willing to pay for sat prep. It is extremely expensive. A few thousand I believe.

whoa. does it guarantee a good score though? has anyone tried it and failed?

OMFG, they're ALL ASIAN. all of the sat, elite prep, perfect scorers.

http://www.eliteprep.com/sub07.htm

Every single one of them. asians are freakin pwnage.

sai, do you see your friend in any of their pictures?

one white kid
4 indians
and thousands of asians.

hahah

oH I got to that thing. I must say it's expensive. I don't think it guarantees you a BOOST in scores though it helps in some aspects. YOU MUST study on your own to, hit the books.

MY theory:

35% academy
65% self-study

Elite is the best. Period.

I never do self study and I've gone up from 1800s to 2300s this year.

There's no way you're going to be self studying with the amount of work Elite gives you.

Well maybe it works the other way for you. But for me, If I don't self study, It's the smasher in my head.

elite acutally does help a lot.
i just took the winter boot camp (im in thailand..haha) and my score went up over 400 points. it is really expensive though.
it def. does not gaurentee a perfect score though.
since 1997 only 27 students who have taken elite have acheived perfect scores.. two of them graduated from my highschool (international school bangkok).
if you are committed and are willing to do the work, elite will help you a lot its a great program.

ugh a few HUNDRED dollars is SO not worth it

I know tons of people all over the world (the States, Canada, Korea, China) who took Elite prep courses and nine out of ten feedbacks were "completely useless". You can totally do things that they make you do by yourself. ehh..memorizing vocabs? doing practice questions? ..just..no.

Hi. Having worked for Elite, I would like to respond to one of the previous posters. mrclassicfreak wrote that he “knows tons of people” all over the world who have taken Elite’s course and say it is not worth it; you can just do everything yourself. There are several problems with this post: 1) to claim that you know people all over the world AND they all took Elite’s course seems a little farfetched 2) a lot of the skills can be practised on one’s own BUT you have to know what those skills are, right? 3) the real benefit of taking a course is the simulated tests. Any good course will provide you with copyrighted tests released by the College Board to take again and again and again. The real skill that these courses teach you is taking the test. Without that practice, you have little experience reading and coping with the passages and problems you face. The REAL benefit of these courses is that they provide you with a simulated testing environment to actually practice taking REAL SAT tests. If anyone could do that, they would and these courses wouldn’t exist. They absolutely do help. I’ve seen it happen to the majority of my students. Cheers and good luck with your decisions.

Let me just add a couple of caveats: yes, the courses are very expensive and unfortunately the costs can be hard to swallow. There are things that you can do on your own. If you cannot afford the course costs, you should go get an expensive prep book and devote yourself to it. Before you buy a book, skim through it to ensure they provide with plenty of exercises, some strategy and at least two practice tests. The practice tests are probably the single most valuable items contained therein. The art of teaching the courses is helping students learn to think like the test-makers and like true critical-thinkers. Again, if the best option was to just go buy a book, then everyone would just do that and the courses wouldn’t exist. Elite exists because it provides a valuable service to those who can afford it. The same is true of Kaplan, etc. Think of it like this: why haven’t all colleges converted their teaching mediums to the Internet? The Internet makes education more affordable for all parties, more lucrative for the providers and more convenient for both consumer and producer. The answer, as you well know, is that most people will not/cannot discipline themselves to study, hand in paperwork, etc. It’s the same with the SAT prep courses and the do-it-yourself option. Why do schools offer classes on Shakespeare when you can just go out and buy any old copy of ‘Romeo and Juliet’? Obviously it helps to have someone who is more educated and experienced to help you understand the intricacies of such literature/drama. The same goes for SAT test questions.

did u do the elite 2100 or the elite summer boot camp - what is the difference - which is better?

My d is in the elite 2100 and already her score has gone up 600 points. But she has no summer. Between her job and elite she has no time to do anything. It is a committment.

indians are asians lol
