My daughter is going to be a high school senior in the Fall. She took the SATs and didn't get a very high score. She is interested in taking a course to help her improve her scores. I don't know if she would be better off taking a Kaplan course or a Princeton Review course. I wonder if anyone has any opinions on the matter.

Princeton Review makes the test, I heard they are better.

I would take the Princeton Review. I’ve taken Kaplan practice tests and they’re typically easier than the actual SAT. Princeton Review is spot on.

dont take prep course from either princeton review or kaplan. unless your daughter needs very basic training, dont take it. i took the kaplan and my friend the pr one. we both agree that we didnt learn anything and wasted our money/time on it. if you live in california attend www.elit********** or other SAT centers.

^ hmm i guess collegeconfidential doesnt like me telling which SAT centers are good since it got censored.

I live in Boston. Anyone knows any SAT prep course ??? Is TestMaster good ???
My friend also told me PR is very basic, so i don’t know if i should take it. :|

dont take testmasters and dont take pr.

Hey Bescraze… just a point of fact, not that it’s a big deal or anything, but to clear up misinformation - Princeton Review is an educational test prep company and not affiliated with Educational Testing Service (ETS) the SAT people. I know this is a common misconception - but someone in my SAT prep class asked this question. You can also look it up on Wiki. ETS does publish a test guide called The Praxis Series.

o ok… someone at Borders told me that. Sorry

PR doesnt make the SAT??? CollegeBoard does…

^^iambored10 - To clarify further - this is from The College Board’s webpage:

And this is from the ETS website FAQ section.
