my brother is finishing up honors biology and he is excelling in it. The teacher is an AP Biology teacher who teaches his class and stil he is getting an A. I told my brother to consider taking the SATII biology because he seems know everything from his textbook inside and out. Which prep book should prepare him the best? with so much out, its hard to choose for my bro.

bumpy dumpy

Hi,

I recommend that your brother takes the AP Biology class before taking the AP test. If this is his first year of biology, it does get harder in the second year. Honors level is above-average, but the best preperation for the AP test is found in the AP Biology cirriculum. The highest level of biology in his school at the AP level should do him fine. My friend is in AP Biology 2 and he owns Barron's AP Biology review book. He even has some difficulty with the model AP test questions in the back of the book. These are not easy questions. However, if your brother is especially gifted in biology, he should be fine. I recommend the book by Barron's. Its model AP questions have answers & explanations as well. If your brother can do these questions without a problem, then he should go for it!

^ thanx, but i was wondering on SAt II bio and what SAT II bio prep book is the "best"

well after looking through couple posts, is CLiff's the best?

Just saying, I don't think it will hurt to take it. He can always take it again after AP Bio. If he is motivated to take it, have him go for it.

But for the books...I am not in bio. sorry.

Kaplan and Princeton Review have been my tried and true favs.

Barron's is known for rough scaling, i.e. the numbers you get on practice tests are lower than what you would get for real.

so i guess barron's it is.
