SAT PREP.. how should i study

so i just finished studying for biology and math 2 (thank god) (these were SAT2's) and now i have hte great SAT Reasoning test in November 9the th) which leaves me with about a little more than 3 weeks ot study more close to 4 weeks though..

but my point is how should i study??? my current SAT is 1820, but my goal is 2000+ (or even 2050--2100?)..

here is my planned study, please review and comment nad add tips and tricks etc :)

Oct. 16,23,30 take full SAT reasoning test... and use that to measure where improvements are needed etc. all the while reviewing barron, peterson's, PR's reviewbooks and hte review on CC.
then the last week, i plan to take about 2 more reasoning tests and see how i do..
i plan to study about maybe 2-3 (maybe 4) hours a day? including the SAT practice test days..... WHILE doing college apps and all... i really need a great boost in my SAT.. last time i went in was completely blind with last minute studying and not practice test or PSAT...

so how should i study?? tips tricks, etc.

thanks all.. please please please help meee..

I take 1 full test a day.

Though I am hitting 2300+s, so my strategy might not work for you. I’m just aiming to patch up all the holes that I might have so I won’t lack anything on the real test.

gensis
thanks for your response :)… i cant do 1 full test a day… i just dont have that time. lol.

ill try that though, but not one full test a day, maybe 2 full tests in a week? or something close to that?
i really am hoping to get a higher score.

:)

others please post also :)

I would highly recommend doing test from BB since it contains questions written by the testmakers. The first step in studying for the SAT is to understand and be comfortable with the format. Next, look up some testtaking tips, and for this, I would recommend Xiggi’s method, which helped me amply on the SAT. After you have gotten a gist of the test, apply the tips on practice tests. The single most important thing after taking a practice test is not to calculate your score but to identify and understand your mistakes. There’s no use in taking practice tests after practice tests if you don’t bother to improve your weakness. With that said, I would highly suggest that you break down the test and take 2 sections everyday, and spend time understanding your mistakes. Of course, you want to take some of the tests in one sitting, but do this only the last two Saturdays before the real test because most likely, after you’ve finished the test after 4 hours, you’ll be too exhausted to go over what you got wrong. The only way you’ll improve is from trial-and-error. SAT is simple after you feel comfortable it. Good luck! :D

sweeet… thanks sirevil! i like that method… i think i will try it out :)

im on approx. the same level, taking the SAT next month as well.

how do learn from mistakes on the reading section? studying more vocabs?

thats my weakness to … the whole reading section… i got a 580 or something… my math and writing were low ( hte 620-650) but i should be able ot improve those easily…

hah, we got the same problems bro. im at 570~ on CR.

can someone give me advice on improving on the math section?
im at like 650+, grubers doesnt really help me anymore.

i second thegermankid 's thoughts… how the hell can i raise the scores?? is it just formula and all?? lol

Have you thought about trying some online test prep? Some are cheap or even free. On my site, I recently did a review of Kaplan’s online programs. One of the nice things about it is they give you feedback on the kinds of problems you need more practice on.

[Online ACT and SAT test practice with Kaplan](Online ACT and SAT Test Prep with Kaplan)

I was looking at it from a math perspective because that’s what I do, but they have prep all the different parts of the test.
