i received my SAT scores yesterday and I was not extremely happy with them...

critical reading - 600
writing - 630
math - 530

I really would like an 1880+ and I was wondering if there was anyway i could reach my goal for october
I was wondering if i should get a tutor for math?
I was also really disappointed in my reading and writing because i usually get 650+ in reading and 670+ in writing

thank you very much

What did you use to prepare for the SAT you took? I used Kaplan SAT 2010-2011 Premier and Kaplan SAT Advanced. I recommend those books. A few months is more than enough – just use the schedule recommended in the books.

halogen, I used the blue book and grubers SAT prep and also direct hits volume 1 for vocab

I had the blue book for some time because the prep course i had taken used the blue book as a parallel for the course and many of the homework assignments for class were in the blue book. However, for the grubers book I only had it for about 3 weeks before the SAT so I didn’t really have a lot of time to immerse my self in that book. On my first SAT I had received a 590 on reading and I thought the direct hits would help my score about 30-60 points but that did not happen. I’m thinking that maybe i should go over math concepts, vocabulary, and grammar rules and possibly get a math tutor towards the end of summer to raise my math score to around 600 if thats possible.

thanks and how did you do with those books halogen, any improvements with studying and how long did you study for??

Here’s one idea: learn how to properly form the plural of idea.

lol I was just thinking that :)
