SAT Prep Online?

So...

I originally took the SAT in March of my Sophomore year with no prep courses or anything, and I took the PSAT prior to that. I got a 1770. I would like to take it again, this March, during my Junior year.

My Mom wants me to take a prep course but I am really busy with a lot of my school work and clubs, and was wondering if the Official SAT Online Prep course was worth the price of $70.

I got a 600 on Reading, 600 on Math, and a 570 on Writing. From what I understand, I could easily improve my writing by learning grammar rules better, and I am hoping that my reading score will go up. With math, one of my big problems is the Geometry problems.

Do you think that this could be worth the money? Or would I be better off finding time for the course? Or should I not even bother with the course?

Hi there, I’m in the same predicament as you. I bought the CollegeBoard blue book and if I didn’t have a tutor I’d be using that online course. It’s supposedly really good and they even have people that grade your answers and what not. I’d buy the Blue Book on Amazon for $15 and then you get 10 bucks off from the Online Course. The biggest thing is going to study consistently.

I agree with isaacn, I slef-studied and met with a math tutor only like 3 or 4 times (and he didn’t help AT ALL) and with an CR/W tutor about 3 times and we only went over the essay.

I ended up getting a 2150 super-scored (680CR, 700M, 770W).

For math, I recommend just doing a lot of the practice sections, you will start to see that the same questions are always asked (just different values are used).

Thanks for the advice on the same questions thing… I thought I noticed that pattern with the practice tests we’ve done in math over the last couple of years. I guess i’ll go order that blue book now.

Sure! Hope I helped! :)

Feel free to let me know if you have questions.
