Hey guys, Penn Stater, econ major in University Park, is looking for transferring to schools like Penn and Brown. I am trying to push my GPA higher or at least maintain it at 3.7. But my SAT sucks. 450/710/700. SAT math2 800.

Need to know whether I should consider a retake on SAT.

Also want to know if the chance of being accepted will be hampered if I do not submit SAT to Brown. (Since Brown does not require it)

Really appreciate your advice! :)

If you’re applying as a junior, you won’t need to submit SAT’s or high school stats. This won’t hinder your application because these numbers are fairly irrelevant as they are a few years old.

I’m guessing that the 450 is in CR. If so, it would help you to ace some of your reading/writing intensive courses.

Nice comment, ento. I am guessing what you just wrote is suggesting that I retake one after such courses. Ya, ento…CR, Im actually working on vocabs since I am an international.

Hey Octoberbay, the problem is for schools like Penn that requires SAT for both rising sophs and juniors I have no idea whether a 450 in CR will make my effort on GPA be in vain. Now I would like to ask if there is some past applicant who submits a 450CR but 3.7GPA or higher and gets accepted by such schools.
