SAT Projected score accuracy?

I took the Pre-Test on the SAT website that you can print out, and ended up getting a 2160 without much studying beforehand. How accurate of a projection is this score for the real SAT? I plan on studying A TON for it.. so how much higher could I realistically get this score up?

Also, how accurate is the automatic essay grader thingy?

The score is accurate in and by itself - the SAT you just took was an actual, administered SAT with its curves all worked out.

Now, the score may have been skewed by your testing conditions. Where you checking Facebook when taking the SAT on the CB website? If you printed it out, did you allocate yourself extra time?

2160 is an excellent score and you should be able to hit 2200+ easily, even 2300+ by investing time into studying for the SAT. Study for the SAT everyday at school during lunch. Then study like there is no tomorrow on weekends. That’s what I do ;).

Thanks! and no, i did it with a timer. i actually gave myself a couple minutes less time on some of the sections because i figured that might balance out the fact that i’m taking it at home.

Just food for thought I got a 2270 on pretest and 2230 on real thing, so it is pretty good indicator. Also, the essay grader thing is actually accurate most of the time (gave me an 8, and actually got an 8).

Really? I was under the impression that the automated essay grader gave a bad projection. I wrote a ridiculously long essay and it gave me a 12…

Mine was short-ish to mid-length, and it gave me a 10. How do you automatically grade an essay anyways? :P
