When looking at SAT 25% - 75% do you look at accepted stats or enrolled stats. To determine competativeness in an applicant pool which should be used? Thanks

Is there a big difference between the two?

At the non ivy level there can be a difference of 100 points - for example

accept 1270- 1430
enroll 1220 - 1370

Which to use?

What kind of people do you want to enroll with? You always have to consider that issue. If you get accepted to three different colleges, would you likely go to the one with the highest score range?

Most selective schools will look more closely at HS achievement (GPA and classs rank) than at standardized test scores, so it's good to keep the score ranges in perspective.

Still, one of the most telling figures, I think, is the 25th percentile of those enrolled. Most of the students in the lowest quartile of the incoming class will be in because they have a major hook (artistic talent, recruited athlete, URM, legacy, and often the ability to pay the full tuition). If you are "hookless" and would've been near the bottom quarter of the previous year's freshman class, you've gotta consider the school a significant reach.
