I know this sounds silly, but would it be dumb to completely skip all writing sections of the SAT. All of the schools I am looking at super score, and I have received an 800 on writing twice. I am taking the SAT one more time and am very tempted to not do writing. Your thoughts...?

Might as well try anyways. You could change your mind about your school options and end up liking a score that does not superscore. Also, even for schools that superscore, in some cases the admissions officers will see all your scores.

Plus, Writing tends not to be very mentally taxing (unlike CR, for example, if you’re really focusing on the passages), so there isn’t much advantage in not trying on it.

ur taking the SAT a third time??

that kindof looks desperate man. i hope this third time is ur last time

taking it three times isn’t so bad…

more than three is where it starts looking bad…

Thanks for yalls help!

My scores have been 2180 and 2230. I don’t know if taking it a third time qualifies me as desperate, but I have already improved math and
reading and maintained writing. I know I can do even better on my third try.

ok, so ur scores are rlly good. just dont go for a fourth

yeah i mean when i was in HS, i always heard that 2 - 3 times is the norm…anything above is too much

I’m personally not a fan of this method (focusing on just one or two of the three sections) but you have a legitimate reason to do so, so I can see why you would be tempted. If you think not doing the writing section will help you improve on the other two, then you might want to go for it.
