Hey Everyone,
I took the SAT's in Jan for the first time and got:
CR - 580
M - 550
W - 630
I was hoping to raise my scores to the 650 range, is their any advice on prep you guys can give me. I plan on retaking the SAT in June and in prep I have been taking practice tests in the PR 11 practice test book and going over the sections carefully; particularly CR and M. Thanks in advance to all posts.

anyone? Would really appreciate the advice.

First, make SURE you have the blue book (official college board book) for the practice tests. They're as accurate as it gets in terms of wording/question types (although they can be a fair bit harder).

The PR 11 practice test book is also very good and highly accurate. I suggest you study the Gruber's prep-book for test taking strategies, knowledge, etc, and then take practice tests from either the blue book or your PR 11 tests book.

Barron's is also another very good choice for prep since it covers everything you need to know.

Which barron's would you recommend? Are these the ones?

the second link didn't work, but from what i've heard, the Barron's 2400 book is for people who already score in the 700+ range and are just looking for those last extra tips to get 2300+ scores.

never mind, the link is working now. the second one is the right book.

In my case, its not that i dont know the math or the strategies, its just that i get nervous when taking the test and end up rushing through and not reading carefully enough; particularly on math. After reviewing my PR tests I found that most questions that I got wrong, I would have gotten correct if I had paid closer attention to the question. Would it be better for me to go over strategies/ gain knowledge from books like Barron's or grubbers or should I primarily focus on practice tests? Also, since I have realized my main issue, I have seen a increase in scores.
