SAT Questions

If I got a 7 on this past essay when I thought I wrote a much better essay than my previous one (which got a 10) and don't understand the grade at all unless it's because I didn't finish a full page (one long paragraph and A SHORT ONE), SHOULD i GET IT RE-SCORED BY PAYING THE FEE? with a 78 on MC, i could get a 760 or 780 with a 9 or 10. is it worth it? also, my math score was a 750 when i was sure of an 8000...my careless mistakes i guess but is it worth getting it hand-graded?

Hand scoring can't get your essay score changed.

From the CB: "If you are concerned about the accuracy of your score, you can request that your answer sheet be rescored by a person (not a machine). Hand scoring does not apply to your essay score."

As for your math score, consider whether the odds of getting your scores changed are worth the $30 fee to get your test hand scored. More likely than not, your 750 is because of careless mistakes that everyone randomnly makes. And in the realm of college admissions, the difference between a 750 and a 800 is minute.

I am thinking about getting mine handscored...i had eraser smuges throughout the cr section. However, could your score ever go down???? This would really suck if you got a lower score after they handscored it

No there is a new essay service that came out for the first time May SAT. It is not on the website, but I talked to 4 different CB people and they say you can order it. It's 50 dollars.. you essay score will be reavuated by 2 people without considering the old score. Your score can go up or down. It is $50.

i'm gonna do the essay...u?

i would only do this if you had ordered one of those score services, and you got to see your test booklet. if you had marked your answers, and you were sure that they were correct, i would get it rescored. otherwise, it's not worth the risk of lowering your score.
