SAT racially discriminatory?

Some think that the test is used to weed certain races out instead of highlighting important parts of pre-college knowledge. What do you think?

I think it’s bull. The old SAT was biased in the sense that it referenced things like crew, which while not necessarily discriminatory, provided a hardship for those students who had never heard of crew. From what I can tell, the SAT tests fairly basic reading comprehension, math based on logical thinking, and a mastery of common English grammar. It’s true that we as African Americans and some other minorities score low, but I think thats a reflection of their respective minority “cultures” and/or individual circumstances and less a reflection of the SAT itself.
