I have just received my SAT I yesterday (December test) and I score 2040. This is my second time taking SAT I, the first being last May, when I score 1980. I revised intensely for the December test and I am very disappointed with the result I got.

I also took SAT II for the first time last November for MATH I, II, and Chemistry. I did okay on Math I (740) and Math II (740) but horribly failed Chemistry.

I have one last test I could register for (January). Should I retake I's, or II's? I took the II's on the same date. Can I exclude from sending to universities my Chemistry result?

I'm applying to Princeton, Dartmouth, and UPenn as my dream universities, needing of II's. Also, I'm applying to UVA, UNC, UMich-AnnArbor, and UFlorida.

UNC, Mich and UF, want all testing done by December. UF does not use SAT IIs for admission, Mich and UNC neither require nor recommend them but will give them some consideration if sent but you should assume for those that SAT is far more important but then you would be too late in taking it again.

UVA, which recommends but does not require IIs, prefers all testing to be done by Dec, but it will accept Jan if it arrives on time and to accomplish that you need to designate as one of your free sends in the application for the test and thus send score blind.

Princeton, Dartmouth and Upenn require two subject tests in different subject matters and thus the two maths count as only one and you either have to send the Chemistry or take another SAT II. They accept January test but also want to get it quickly and that means designating them as your free sends. Upenn requires you to send all scores including all SAT II scores, Princeton and Dartmouth allow you to choose which scores to send.
