SAT re-take test: Is it different?

<p>This past Saturday, I arrived at 7:45am to take the SAT. Unfortunately, midway through the essay portion and guest section, there was a power outage due to extreme weather conditions, this canceling the SAT and postponing the SAT to November 16 (the "retake" date).
Here's what I'm wondering: do they create an entirely new test for the retakers? Or is it the same test that was given on Saturday? Or is it a test from a past year? Does anyone know?</p>

<p>I strongly suspect that College Board has a backup test that they give that is completely different from the original. Or else it wouldn’t be fair if you’ve seen half the test already.</p>

<p>They would pick a test that had been used several years ago to become the emergency plan…</p>
