I know I can do better on critical reading because on practice tests i usually get above 770's.
I really want to make sure my score is good enough (for consideration) for UPenn (first choice) or other Ivy's.

I wouldn’t suggest you stop. How many times have you taken the sat? You know your abilities, and if you think you can improve to the 2350-2400 range, I would say go ahead. Nevertheless, keep in mind that your score is great.

Since you’re only a junior, I see no problem with your retaking the SAT. If you really think you’ll raise your score by 50 or more points, go for it.

I’d be careful with retaking. UPenn requires ALL of your test scores, so you won’t be able to superscore. Scoring higher than 2300 will not make or break your application. The SAT will merely get you past the first step of admissions, which is making sure you are academically qualified. A higher score will not help you.

Personally, I would not take the SAT again. Colleges do not care just about the SAT score anymore since a lot more people are scoring 2300’s and higher. You do have a good score. The only reason I would take it again if I can get a 2400. Otherwise, I would not. Some IVY league schools do not like people taking the SAT more than once to prove to them you can get a higher score in sections. What they really take into consideration is 1) Your Rank and GPA 2)Rigorous Courses, 3) SAT SCORES 4)VOLUNTEERING AND COMMUNITY SERVICE!!!, 5) How active are you in your school?, 6) Recommendations

I know this because I have 5 cousins in IVY league and b/c my friend got declined from Yale and Harvard and he got a 2380…but had no Community Service.
