SAT Retake, Is it true that ...

Okay, I havent taken SAT yet, but a friend of mine told me, that If I fail the first time, the second time my first result plus the result of my second try, will be collected and then divided by 2. So my result is going to be lower ? Is it true?

Nope, most schools take the highest of each section.

Some colleges consider your highest single sitting, some “superscore” which means taking the best from each individual sitting into one maximized superscore. And some colleges like to see if you have taken it once, twice or thrice just to see any progress and how much you have studied for the test etc. However ALL admissions officers are VERY VERY VAGUE when it comes to all questions regarding admissions that you could use to get an edge.

No. There is never any “averaging” between tests.

In the pre-USNews ranking days, many schools actually did average multiple sittings (and some took the most recent result and some the highest sitting). But since the rankings depend in part on average scores on standardized tests almost all now either “superscore” or at least take the highest sitting.
