So today, I got my SAT score from march. I was pretty pleased with the result-800/660/800.
With Cornell being my top choice, do you think that I should retake to try to up the math score? Since the Math SAT II is required anyway, I figure that if I do well enough on that, I shouldn't have to retake. My big concern is that while I think that with more prep, I can raise my math, I don't think that I can make an 800 again on writing. I'm sure that I can pull another high 700 in reading, and I think that I could make 700 in math, but with writing I'm pretty hit or miss. Since I have to take and do well on the SAT 2 anyway, is it worth doing a retake?
As a sidenote, I'm looking at ILR, so a non-800 math isn't the deathnote that it'd be for an engineering prospect. Another thing that might matter is that my grades will likely be substandard for the applicant pool.

Leave it be! An 800 on CR is amazing. I got in to ILR with a math score that was only 10 points higher (and I managed a 630 on the Math I subject test), so it’s not out of range at all. That CR score is great though. And, yeah, writing is a crapshoot. My score went up 80 points on my retake and my essay was much weaker the second time around (and I only got 2 more MC correct), so it’s not to be trusted.
