Other than standard testing am I pretty much finished with my application? I’ve written and edited my main personal essay, extracurricular activity short answer and resume that throughly details my extracurricular activites in addition to contacting the teachers who will write my recomendations. My grades are high about 3.8 weighted basically an A average at my school.

Thank you, for those who respond.

Post in Chances thread?

I’m thinking about doing the same thing as you, but could we take the Dec. sat and still make the deadline for college app?

go from 1980 to 2300? highly unlikely, no matter how much you prep. it has been done, but only in extreme cases. even most people who score 2200 first time have trouble getting 2300 (if they can reach it at all).

agreed with the last poster. Then again from my first ever (practice) sat to my last(real), I did go up 640 points.

This forum is so negative, give him some dreams **** people.

Honesty does not equal negativity.

Would you prefer us to say just study and theres no way you that you can get any lower than 2300?

A 2300 is in the 99+ percentile, meaning that less than .5% of people can achieve that score.

We are here to give our opinions on his chances, we are not here to give him false hope. If he can study and manage that 2300, he can shove it in our faces, but I am willing to bet that he can manage about 2200 at most.

I have a personal friend of mine who jumped from a 2170 to a 2370 through sheer studying. You NEED to know what you’re weakest at and change your study habits DRASTICALLY. That is the key, I believe – but I bet you heard it before.

But it’s true.
