SAT retakes

How many times should I take the SAT? I have taken it two times and am thinking about trying again.

take 3 max

depends on score, if your score will go up much more than before- take it, but some schools frown on taking the test more than twice, unless of course your score improves nicely the third time

my scores were 1300, then 1370

would you recommend me trying a third time?

im trying 2 get from 1100 to 1300, and its not working. sat books say to answer less question but i dont know how much to omit on the math or the verbal

I usually try never to omit any, unless I have absolutely, completely no idea...I just wrote an essay haing to do with why men d better than women on the SATs, even though women tend to do better in school, and one major factor is risk-taking- a.k.a. educated guessing. First time I had a 1330(650V 680M), second time 1420 (740V 680M).
Do you guys think I should reake to raise math...or considering it was 680 both times, 680 is most liekly what I'll get again?

P.S. Word on the street is that if you can cancel out atleast one answer to a question as being wrong, it's advantageous to make an educated guess rather than leaving it blank (but you can always jsut skip over the wicked hard ones and come back to them later- just make sure you leave time).

my problem is i have no idea and the test is next week, i mean if u take the test u can get higher or lower, are u a risk taker?

oooh, very nice response :-P, and quite a good point.

if u confident u can get higher do it, but if u have alot of doubts dont do it. But then doubt have regrets tomorrow

i would say that if you think you can improve by at least 50 points, do it. (I did)

ok thanx. I guess I'll go for it

good luck!

i disagree with the confidence part. Just study and always be pessemistic, i took it 3 times, everytime i went, i didn't feel ready, but eveytime, my score jumped 115 points on average!!! :S

take it, and if you feel you didn't do so well, cancel the test!

ok so i've taken it 3 times: 1310, 1350, 1440... i'm already signed up for next saturday... since i've already sent out score reports, if i do worse they won't see it.. but if i do better, will they not like that i took it a 4th time?
