sat retakes

what will colleges think if I take the sat several times and some of my scores are pretty low. Do they seriously only care about the highest score?

This is a FAQ.

ra, it depends on colleges. Most colleges, if not all, ONLY look at your highest scores. Ivy League universities for example, have someone keying in the highest score from each section of your SAT.

I cannot guarantee the same thing for certain colleges like Stanford. Former admission dean, in his published book, writes that Stanford put "minimal amount of attention" on the overall trend of your score. Nonetheless, Stanford only pays large amount of attention to your highest scores from each section.

Still, the new admission dean might have his/her own ways of doing things.
