SAT - 710 Reading, 700 Math, 730 Writing
SAT II - 700 Math II, 660 Physics

ACT - 33 Composite, 36 Math, 34 Science, 30 Writing, 32 Reading

I was thinking about only sending in my ACT, would that help at all / is it a good idea?

Note: Planning to major in engineering, maybe MechE.

Well, your SATs are good, but borderline for Tufts, while your ACT is a bit better - especially the math and science scores, which are presumable more important for an application to the engineering school. I would send only the ACT, because in your case the SAT adds nothing positive.

If I have the same option, should I do the same thing when I apply to other schools?

I also heard that colleges will convert the ACT score to an SAT #, and only take into consideration the higher scoring test... can anyone confirm that?

I'm not sure if that's what they do at Tufts, but for the UC system, it is.
