On the MIT website here: Tests & Scores | MIT Admissions, it says November is the last date to take it and that scores must be sent at that time, but I'm sending my old scores. When do they need to receive it by for Early Action (November 1 is EA application deadline)?

I'm sending them right now, and I don't know whether to choose "Rush Shipping" or Regular Shipping."

You can send the scores by regular shipping, as long as they’re sent before November 1. MIT does not need to receive the scores by that date.

Thank you so much, molliebatmit. I almost had a heart attack because I thought I had missed the deadline (I was thinking of the October SAT’s instead of November).

EDIT: Molliebatmit, the CollegeBoard website says that by regular shipping, it takes from 1 to 2 weeks to send. Would that be quick enough, or should I do rush shipping, which is 1 to 2 days to send?

@larry: I sent mine my regular shipping, and MIT got them the next day.

Regular shipping from now is fine, even if it did take two weeks. MIT isn’t expecting applications to be complete until a week or two after the deadline, given that they need to sort through the huge volume of teacher recs, secondary school reports, and score reports. For all of these things, November 1 is the required postmark date, not the required receipt date.

Thank you so much for the helpful info, tomdead and molliebatmit!
