SAT Score deadline

Hi. I applied to many universities for Fall 2013 and submitted the SAT scores as needed. I submitted them around December 31st, but Collegeboard indicates that the schools received these scores on January 4th.

I just need to make sure, is the deadline of January 1st for the submission of SAT scores by the student or the receiving of it by the universities?

EDIT: Also, slightly offtopic, but does this definition of 'deadline' also apply to the universities' applications? I submitted them on January 1st but they received them a day or two later.

You’re fine. Almost every single school is off on Jan. 1, and so they don’t download them until they are back at work a day or two later. Your SAT scores were receieved, don’t worry.

OK. Thanks! Also, would it be too late to pay the application fee for a university with a Jan 1st deadline?

Most colleges don’t have an SAT deadline on Jan. 1. For instance, Yale’s deadline is Mar. 1, Trinity (CT) is Jan. 15. But some colleges like Amherst have their deadlines on Jan. 1. So don’t fret. Some of your colleges may have their deadlines past Jan. 1. I think Purpleacorn is right.
Just check the deadlines section of each colleges/universities you are applying at bigfuture.collegeboard. (org)

ProdigyRunt-- at this point, a week later, I would actually call and ask or make contact with your admissions counselor, though somebody else may think it’s okay. I certainly don’t think schools aren’t going to take your money, but it’s been enough days after the deadline that schools may take note.

Scores can arrive and application fees can be paid after the application deadline and that includes any college like Amherst.
