The first time I took the SATs, I got 800M and 650V. I took them again and got 710M and 680V. =/ I’m bummed because my math went really low, and verbal only increased by 30 points (but at least it increased).
My question is that will colleges wonder what in the world happened to my math score since it dramatically decreased by almost 100 points?

Well, I am not at all surprised. The math curve is brutal...to say the least...so...the difference between a 700 and a 800 might literally be a few problems. it's human to miss a few problems. Don't worry about it. You have a really nice combined score.

you got a 1480...dont worry about subscores so much...like catch-22 said, the difference is only about 4-5 problmes or somehting to that effect...PERHAPS, subconsciously, you were aware that your math skills weren't as critical to that test as your verbal, and your brain somehow tried to shift your intellectual capacity towards verbal...did i succeed in making myself look like a moron and a dumbass all rolled into one?

No, sat908, I think the problem was that I was so self-concious about trying to score just as high on the math again that was I got caught up in my own worried thoughts which distracted my thinking. The first time I took the math test, I wasn't even THINKING about my score, I was just trying to get through it.

well, if you're that confident about math, wanna help me out...i got a 710 M and a 630 V...help on how to do better on either section would be most appreciated...cheerio
