I'm a freshman at a decent state school looking to transfer into Cornell, and I was wondering if they hold it against you if you take it in college. Also is it true that people look down on transfers at Cornell?

SATs are meant to be an “indicator” of your freshmen year in college. Certainly you see the problem with taking them after you’re already in college. Why not present a 3.8 GPA and great essays. Admissions will care about these far more.

I never noticed people looking “down” on transfers, but the freshmen certainly have it easier for housing stuff.

lefleeg, you don’t need to take SAT for certain majors if you are transfering. At least, in AEM you don’t need to.

I plan to apply to the college of engineering, which i know is extremely competitive. Is a 2250(1500) good enough? Does it matter any that i only took it once? I’m pretty sure i could do better if i retook it.

That’s more than fine.
