SAT score...good or bad im not sure??

1 was wondering i got like a 1500 and i dont know if its good or not?
please help!!

1500 is the national average. I guess since you're on a forum of overachievers, that looks pretty bad.

How good your score is completely depends on what college you're planning to go to.

Also, is that 1500 just between Math and Critical Reading or is that for all 3?

UMMMM. lol.
you just posted a 1500 SAT score on CC.
I congratulate you. You are one of the brave ones.
i dont even know what to say to a 1500.

Don't be mean, it really depends what type of schools you are looking at. There are thousands of universities out there that wouldn't look down on a 1500...
Just because you guys have amazing SAT scores doesn't mean that you should scoff at people with lower scores...

A 1500 is damn good.

This. Seriously, get over yourselves, even someone as smart as Databox isn't being condescending (who can own 99% of you guys in stats/academics/EC's/college).

1500 is fine. If you can improve, it's cool. I wouldn't call it a "good" score, but it's average IMO.

http://professionals.collegeboard.com/profdownload/sat_percentile_ranks_2008_composite_cr_m_w.pdf

49th percentile. Average. Not bad (or good) per se, if you don't care for the more prestigious universities. Fine for many of the rest, though...

It's average. Average is not a bad thing.

it's good enough, you'll get into college so congrats
but if you're looking at a really top school, i would consider retaking
good luck! :)

average. thank you for being different though..i'm fed up with all those people who think a 2200 is bad

is that out of 1600? if it is, then it's really really good.

I'd cry if I got that score.

But, depends - Are you looking to go to Harvard or are you perfectly fine going to a state school? Nothing against state schools - I mean, New York has some great ones. But, they're definitely going to earn you 200k+ after college.

what about a 1460?
Im trying to get into Rutgers??

That's the lower end of the middle 50%. Take it again. Bring it up to a 1500-1600 and you'll be golden.

I'm not being condescending.
Just compared to cc people. It's like unique.
A rare thing. almost. sadly. lol. ok.. ill shut up.

its not bad. i mean 1500 is, or just above, the national average. you can definitely get into a state school, but take it again if you’re thinking of prestige. i applaud you for posting this question on College Confidential (a forum for overachievers xD). i just got my score today and im a little disappointed. im taking it again in september.

We still don’t know 1500/1600 or 1500/2400.

It’s average – Hey I got something pretty close to that =) I definitely recommend taking it a second time though. If you didn’t study, then get a blue book and take some practice tests. You are likely to improve your scores.

@seniors09RU: If you’re going to Rutgers, SAT scores should be a biiit higher. Mebbe 1500-1700 range would be nice. Since they are so large, they only look at numbers. (GPA is very key as well.) One essay and priority deadline are necessary for scholarships, but not admission. Being in-state also helps majorly. ;D

I’m a Rutgers '13 student; mebbe I’ll see you there. (haha, it’s so BIG though!)

@threadmaker: depends on which schools you’re looking at and whether it’s only CR and Math or the whole thing. (: G’luck!
