SAT score importance when not required?

Hi,

I’m an int student who’s spent 3 semesters in college (totaling around 70 credits), so SAT scores were not required for my transfer app. However, I took them (after leaving college here) just for the application, to put my college grades from my country into perspective.

Now that I’m about to apply, I’ve been wondering if this is even something they seriously consider given that they’re not required. I’d feel really bad if they weren’t, especially considering how they’re one of my “strengths.”

So, basically - can a SAT score of 2250+ be of help when applying to a good school (albeit not ivy-league,) in my case?

Thanks!
