Ive heard that some people did not have to submit their SAT scores...can someone explain why this what occur?

I ask because Im a pretty strong student but i bombed the SAT math and thats why I beleive I didnt get into tufts now...hopefully transfer though

It varies from college to college. Many do not require it if you are transfering into junior year, many do not even require it if you are transfering into sophomore year, but a number require it regardless of year into which you are transfering. Tufts is one of those that requires it regardless of year of transfer: http://admissions.tufts.edu/transfer.htm#testing

The main reason not to require it, particularly for a junior transfer, is that it has no applicability. The SAT folks say that their test is designed to predict, along with high school GPA, your probability of making it through freshman year. Once you have a year or two in college, the real predictor is how you have already done in college.

am I automatically out of the running with a 1200 SAT score for Tufts transfer...even if I have 3.7 GPA in college?

oh yeah...is there any way I can take the SAT again even though Im a senior and im going to college in the fall.
