SAT Score of 1290?

I plan on transferring into NEU for the fall of 2017 and majoring in computer science. On the SAT, I scored a 610 on Evidence-Based Reading and Writing, 680 on Math, and 6/6/6 on the Essay. While my SAT score may not be great, I have very good stats, essays, etc… on my application. Do I still have a chance? I am a white male if that helps decide if I do.

Sorry to bother you guys.

you have a shot, but it’s probably not a great shot. i have very similar stats: sat 1300 700e and 600m, I’m a white female, and i got accepted a week ago. so don’t give up hope

@slowrunner7 did you apply as a transfer applicant or a first-year? I have very similar stats (new SAT 1330 - 670e, 660m and 6-6-6 essay). I applied RD in late December as a first-year student and I haven’t heard anything yet. I realize that Northeastern is definitely a big reach but I’m still hoping for a miracle.

So am I. SAT of 1380

@Fall2017dreaming I was accepted as a first year student in the NUin program, which is for students who have generally lower stats than other admits. As an NUin student, you study abroad for your first semester and then begin classes in Boston in the spring. Lots of people are intimidated by NUin because studying abroad for your first semester is a huge change, but if you really like NEU and you get accepted to NUin then I don’t think that that should deter you. Unless, of course, you can’t afford it. Unfortunately the program is really expensive, and that is a problem for most ppl who don’t get good aid. That is the biggest obstacle for me, but I really want to go to northeastern, and the program looks really awesome. Also, I don’t know for sure, but it’s possible that NUin students hear back around the same time? So if you haven’t been accepted to NUin, then maybe they are considering you for regular admission.

@slowrunner Thanks so much for the information! Northeastern is my dream school but I don’t think my family wouldn’t be able to afford NUin even if I were to be accepted to that program. I guess I’ll just have to wait it out and see what happens! Best of luck to you with your decision
