I went to an info session for Northwestern this evening and the admissions officer who was giving the presentation was asked whether Northwestern superscores the SAT (taking the highest score in CR, math, writing from multiple tests) or whether they look at the score from one sitting, and he said that they look at it from one sitting. Is this correct? Almost every other school superscores (other than the UC schools and UT) -- I wonder why they don't?

My understanding is that, to date, NU has been among the very few of the top-ranked schools that do not superscore.

In that case, do they look at writing? My SAT score got a lot worse in writing this time but I heard it isn't that important.

Writing will be looked at for statistics, but CR and M take precedence.

can anyone else confirm that they only take the highest score from one sitting?

I wonder why they don't superscore. I'm sure it helps them when it comes to using the SAT averages for marketing and whatnot. Oh, well. Doesn't really affect me xD

Yeah I attended an info session on October 16thish. That's what I heard as well.
