a lot of the kids in my school who aren't in the top 10% and don't have great sats (maybe low 2000s and high 1900s) have been getting into Ivy schools...maybe that's why my guidance counselor has been feeling optimistic lately.

did they cure cancer?

1900, stupid essay, couldn't get a conclusion in there, or even a 3rd supporting paragraph.

I think mine went something like:

CR: 740-800
W: 730-800'
M: 580-680 (:()

hey, colsen, tell your counselors to not give it a sh**, then show your score proudly..make them feel embarrassed!!

I know how you feel when you are underrated by some other fools like those people..Don't get f***** up with those people, it's not worth to do so!!!

math 780-800
reading 750-780
writing 750-780

lets pray i at least met those...its so easy to be too optimistic

oh hes totally gonna be embarrassed. when i throw my 2300 (god willing), in his face. >: )

Umm...just took the real SATs for the first time today. Personally, I thought that they were WAY better than the ACTs. (Are any other Midwesterners being "strongly urged" to take both the SAT and ACT (and do well on both!) by their guidance counselors? I think it would be easier to just pick one and focus on it, but my guidance counselor really doesn't like that idea...)

On the ACT my writing, reading, and science scores were great...math, not so much. I think SAT will probably be the same way. So, on that note, my predictions are...

math=670-700 (I am so NOT a math person!)
reading=780
writing=770-780
*TOTAL=2220 -2260

I am definitely going to take it again, so I'd be really happy with anything at or over 2200.

CR 680 M 770 W 720

2170

i have a feeling either CR or W is going to higher and math is going to be lower =(

Speaking of the essay...yeah. Mine was...interesting. I talked about the Great Depression (AP History -- it follows me everywhere. :) ) My conclusion consisted of about one good sentence and one okay (not really) sentence. The score for that will be lovely, I'm sure.

Colsen, NO, THEY DIDNT! which is the surprising thing. But they have something that is almost as valuable as someone who cures cancer...they are URMs.

chronic--
I am really jealous of your math score...my brain isn't very mathematical!

CR-720 (3-6 wrong) - hoping for 750!
Writing- 750 ( like 3-4 wrong 10-11 essay)
math 600 ( well can't be good at everything)

Feeling really ignorant right now -- sorry -- what's a URM?

Mr. Tubbz --
I'm pretty sure that that's how I should explain my math ACT score! lol

KAtek-
URM is the scapegoat often used to describe students who get into college without 2400 scores, they are thought of ( at least on this forum) as underqualified and underserving of spots in the highest levels of American academia. They Often garner unwarrented sarcasm and bitterness such as Tuft's " OH come all you Black folk" and the hook their race gives them is often exagerated (sp) eg " almost as good as curing cancer, they were URM" Used interchangebly ( sp) by many with black
or in lamus terms
Under Represented minorities- Blacks, Hispanics, and Native Americans

Math 660 - 720 :( :( :( I;m thinking raw score 49 . . . I hope collegeboard scales well and I can get 700 / 710 / 720 :( :(
(I got 670 in December 06)

Writing - Dunno - 700 + I Hope
Essay was good in a way
(I got 700 in Dec 06)

CR - 600 - 650 I hope :)
(It was MUCH better than my Dec 06 one with 550 :( )

Overall looking for anything between 2000 - 2100+ (2100 is preferred though)

But I guess I'm being too hopeful about 2100 + :( :( :(

I HATEEE Sat I ... Why do colleges care so much about it :( :( plus Im not going to redo it anymore now...

I'm going to guess 50 points up from my scores in March:

CR - 630 (570 before)
M - 670 (620 before)
w - 680 (630 before)

I'm hoping for:

CR: 600
W: 700
M:600

but my biggest combo score would actually be 2000. (690 math)...

Hmmm well....

Writing: 10 on the essay, 760-780
Math: 760-800
CR: Really hard to tell what I got here, so umm 620-740

I hope my critical reading is on the higher side, its always been my weakpoint!
