SAT score question

So I plan to take my first SAT in May but I think I will get lower than 2000 on that one. I am gonna retake next October for a better score. I am working hard toward that. My goal is at least 2100.

However, some schools like Yale require applicants to send in all of their scores. Will I be screwed if I get like 1700-1800 in May but 2100 in October ? Will it be a huge burden in my application ?

Not really. They will mainly look at your highest one. Also, your on the honor code when your sending in your scores, so you don’t have to send in all of your scores, although you should.

But Yale does require every single SAT that I have taken so I will have to send all in.

You think they will care about my highest one ? Then I am kinda fine ?

I am hesitating to register for the May SAT. I want to try for it and to see where am I right now to know how much more I have to study but on the other hand, I am afraid that low score will kill me.

I would register for the May SAT because I feel a month is enough to study for it, but if you don’t feel comfortable, wait for the June one. Also, Yale may “require” your scores, but they have no way of verifying if you sent all of your scores through score choice, therefore you are on the honor code to send in your scores. (I had a talk about my guidance counselor about this and she told me that she felt personally that colleges cannot require all scores from you and it is your choice ultimately).

I would do the June date if you don’t feel prepared yet. But if you’re taking subject tests in classes you have now, I would do those instead. That way you don’t forget everything by the next test date in the fall.

What I am planning is taking Subject tests which are Math II and Bio M in June and SAT in May. The only thing I am worried about is that if I score low in May, I will pretty much done for college. Do you guys still think they will consider my highest score and not really care that much about my low score ?

Also, it says on CB that deadline for May registration is March 31. Does it mean that I have to do before March 31 or I can still do it on March 31 and before April 1 ?

why take it if youre not ready?

Because I want to see where am I right now. My main target is October. I want to get an official score as a start point.
