Is it a substantial raise in chances to get accepted into either UCLA or UCBerkeley with an increase of 2050 to 2200+ on your SATS? given that GPA is 3.8, 4.1 weighted?

If you are from cali, you get into numbers schools like the UCs by increasing your numbers. This isn't rocket science.

but how substantial..would the increase be to acceptance?

For myself im trying to improve about 100 points, it seems rather substantial to me. I suppose increases to the scores that everyone shoots for would help (ie. 2100 ect) would help. SATs arent everything, raising them will obviouslly help.

Assuming you are a California resident,
UCB/UCLA: Slight Reach ---> Match

I'm guessing top-notch numbers are required for out of state?

Unfortunately, yes, top notch numbers for OOS for UCLA and Cal. For Engineering at Cal, you need ridiculous numbers OOS.
