SAT score reporting

Dear CC knowledgeable members/moderators: What is the maximum time limit after you take SAT to send your scores to 4 free recipients? My son is a junior and is taking his SAT for the first time day after tomorrow, 1/23/10. Also, what are the thoughts on Score Choice by College Board? We want to send both scores(we are hoping that son does not need to take more than once, but you never know) to 4 recipients, one of which I was told should be National Merit Scholarship Corporation, as son most likely will be a NMSF. Thanks a bunch.

I believe it’s the Monday a week after the test. Check on collegeboard first though.

Thanks for the reply leafblade. I did go there and read about the date in Feb. 2010(unable to log into it right now), but as a reminder it said, “You have until June 2010 to send your 4 free scores”, hence the confusion!

What?!? There’s no more than a week after the test date to send free score reports! Maybe that’s for June test date? I’m pretty sure it’s till the Monday after, or maybe the next Monday.

Don’t send scores if you haven’t completed all tests–if you’re applying to schools that require SAT II’s, for instance. Otherwise send ASAP. I don’t know about early reporting to NMSC–I don’t know if they’ll keep scores if you haven’t gotten the Semifinalist packet yet.

Would colleges actually hold the SAT scores before they receive a formal application from a student?
