I took the SAT 1 this OCT but haven't received the paper based score report yet while my frens have already received yet..I think it has probably got lost...and unfortunately I need to photocopy the score and send to all the colleges...so what can i do...please suggest me something....

I heard this somewhere:

In presence of you GC take a printout of the score report from CB.com, get it signed with a note from GC explaining the case. When your original score report arrives, get it signed and faxed.

oh that's nice....thanx a lot....I hope the colleges accept that one....does this mean this kind of problem has been faced by many already??

lol I still can't see my October SAT essay..

Generally by people who take the Jan SATs, they get their score reports in March.
Btw, will your college accept mailed score report instead of the official one($9.5)?

yeah...they will...i don't think ppl from Nepal are that rich already to pay 10$ each for a score report...at least I am not...

and btw i was thinking of taking the SAT 1 again in Jan...what do u think..worth taking again?? got deferred from Vassar with my previous scores...

my previous scores are:
Oct 2005: Cr. 570 M 790 W 640
OCT 2006: cr. 600 M 750 w 670
Nov 2005 SAT II Physics 770 math 1 790 math2 800

suggest me if i need to take the sat 1 again...(taking into consideration the fact that its jan test date that also jan 26)

At almost all of the places you would need a '7' in front of your scores for you app to be considered competitive.
If you have a chance to retake then why not?

Like abhishiv said a '7' would be nice but that shouldn't be the reason to give/take it again. Give/take the test ONLY if you believe you will do well.

I've heard that if you take the test three times, they start using the average of the test scores from the tests. So, that will get you in more trouble...

But he has only taken SAT1 twice. I think he should attempt a third time.

@comfy: That is one of the BIGGEST SAT myths ever! Totally untrue.

Then, you can go for it one more time..Shail619...boooyaka booyaka(hehe)

@ shail619 -- Send your current SAT scores, take SAT 1 again in Jan, if there is a vast improvement (100+ marks) then re-send.....I know its gonna cost, but its better than keeping colleges in the dark till Feb and then finally find out that your SAT marks haven't improved....

Shail619, your SAT II marks are very good. So my theory is that being from Nepal (third world country), they give more emphasis on your marks in the maths and the sciences than in the english parts. In any case, ur CR and Writing marks are well above those of average American kids. Your second SAT I scores may hurt you if u r applyin to colleges that give only merit based scholarships, where they require certain cut-off scores. But for colleges with need based aid, I don't think that'l be a problem.
But, I also think it wont hurt sending Vassar a third SAT score since it will show that u r serious about improving and getting in RD. However, if u have other things to send to vassar, like a new essay or somethin really good, i dont think u need to send a new SAT score. I have also read in a college magazine that taking the sat more than twice may give +ve or -ve impression to colleges. +ve impression boleto the one i just mentioned above. -ve impression boleto the college might think u r too obsessed with scores and not confident in your application as a whole. If u r not applyin to Ivy Leagues or MIT, i think u dont need to take the test thrice. Up 2 u 2 decide.

About the lost score report, why not send the colleges your College Board username and password so that they can verify? or u cud ask your principal to write your scores in a letter and send to colleges. Best of luck and don't worry man.

thanks...I really appreciate all your concern..but still I am confused..hehe...

waste of money and energy. But u can try if u have already registered cuz energy can be restored :D

the registration deadline is ticking away and i have no clue as to what i am going to do....

sigh.....same here....
