I decided to apply to Pitzer College in California which is a test-optional school. However, I have not sent in my SAT score until a few minutes ago and it is December 31st. I’m not exactly sure when Pitzer needs test scores by but I believe it is January first. I did rush shipping on my scores but I’m not sure if they will get there by the first. I have not sent in my application yet but would it be better to say I am sending the SAT scores and to have them possibly be turned in late or to say I will not be sending in any scores? Thank you.
Given that Pitzer is test-optional, are you actually required to report scores officially at this point? Many schools allow self-reporting now.
Well it is not required but I am assuming it would help to send them in. Also, I’m wondering what would happen if I said on my common app that I am sending them in and yet the scores don’t make it in until after the 1st. Considering the test optional factor would this go against me? Or would it not really matter.
Well this school does not do self reporting either. It is not required to send in scores at all but I am assuming it would help to send them in. Also, I’m wondering what would happen if I said on my common app that I am sending them in and yet the scores don’t make it in until after the 1st. Considering the test optional factor would this go against me? Or would it not really matter.
If the school doesn’t allow self-reporting, and you want them to consider your scores, then go ahead and send in. Contact them tomorrow to find out if they are due by the deadline or is there a grace period. From the admissions page, it appeared that they wanted everything by the deadline but call to make sure. If they are “late” they’ll read your app. without them.
