So, I’m applying SCEA at Yale and I have taken the SAT in October. I selected Yale as a score recipient when I registered for the test (which was on September 30!!), but on my College Board account it says that my scores are still pending. Will my score arrive in time for the November 1 deadline? Also, I have sent Yale my June SAT scores, but I really need the October ones to be considered, as I have improved by 90 points. Anyone has any idea on Yale’s policy for SAT scores that don’t arrive by the deadline? Also, is anyone experiencing the same problem with pending scores, although they have been ordered before scores were released?
You’re fine. They’ll know to look out for your Oct scores – they’re happy you’re applying SCEA.
Yes, everything we requested, even ones that were requested when we signed up for the test, is still pending. I feel like it’s forcing people to pay for rush scores because of course we can all just belch money out… Sorry, very frustrated with them as well. I contacted each of the four schools that he’s submitted EA apps to and all but one said that they know they are delayed and just to keep on it to make sure they get sent.
@T26E4 @johnnamjh thanks guys, I just checked again and my scores are now sent to Yale :). Best of luck!
@an1620 After I saw your post, I re-checked and ours mostly show sent too! I am surprised they were updated this morning and not overnight, but whatever, I’ll take it!
@johnnamjh did all your scores send though? Today I checked and it only two of the four score reports I requested sent… I’m hoping that they’ll be continuing to send scores tomorrow.
So far, the only school that scores are still pending for me is the University of Pennsylvania… not sure if this is a school thing or that they forgot to send mine.
Two were still pending but they were ordered later. One, unfortunately, I rushed based on a phone call to admissions. Later the rep emailed that it was fine if it arrived after 11/1. Sigh. Better safe than sorry though.
I sent my scores on Tuesday, theyre still pending. Im scared they wont go in time for Purdue EA :(. Ill be calling them tonight. Also on my common app, it says my transcripts have been “downloaded”, but on Purdue’s application status page, it shows that they have not been received yet. Should I be worried? Im international if that changes anything Lol
@jasli98 That happened to me! For my subject tests scores (bio, Spanish, chem) and neither of my bio tests sent (I took it twice). I have it on my order receipt and everything but on my account it hasn’t been sent, although another test from that date was sent. We called college board and they said this problem would be fixed by Friday, but honestly I’m not sure it will. And Nov 1 is coming so I might have to end up rushing new scores.
@Slytherclaw12 Yeah, my Bio M scores have been left out of my score reports that have been sent so far but my Chemistry score has been included (which was a much lower score than Bio). Like out of all the scores that could have been missed it turns out to be the bio scores. I took Bio and Chem on the same day and only Chem sent.
Now that I know there’s other people out there with missing bio scores I’m more inclined to think that it’s just Biology that has scores that haven’t sent. Were they aware of this issue before you called? If they were then there is a big possibility it’ll be fixed by Friday.
@skyblade1234 I think CollegeBoard is still sending scores today and tomorrow (according to other posters on CC) so hopefully your scores will be sent soon. I’ve been hearing that scores have been backed up lately and they’re trying really hard to get all the score reports sent before Friday.
As for your transcript, I would just email Purdue or call them and confirm that they have received it or not.
@jasli98 I just don’t understand why they would send all scores separately. I just hope it’ll go through. And bio was my best score so I need it to send.
It’s a data dump. Your scores become available to any school that you designate. It’s up to Yale, Purdue, anyone – to actually go in and retrieve your scores. One school might retrieve all scores every day. Another one might do it twice a week. It’s up to them.
And then it takes some lag before the colleges check off that the scores have been recorded – nothing is automatic and immediate.
No, I have had extensive conversations with college board about this… it is not the school’s retrieval process that is the problem it is college board sending them that is the problem.
CB says they don’t know what happened- problems with their computers due to high volume. The scores have actually NOT been sent out to the colleges YET.
CB says that they will work late tonight and tomorrow and hope to get every single score sent by tomorrow (Saturday). I called UMD and they said they were told that they have a large batch coming in tomorrow (and hopefully ours will be in that batch).
Our status said sent last night but today said still pending. CB said they are still pending. UMD checked the batch that ours are in and the batch has not been sent.
UMD sent out an email they think the problem is just from the people that took the Oct sat -but we didn’t take the Oct SAT. We just requested our scores (from March sat ) be rushed on CB on Oct 19 and again on Oct 25th
CB says the problem lies with scores requested after oct 15 an some have gone out an some haven’t. I am thinking they ar going out in large batches by school. I am thinking this is a by school issue.
Are they gonna get all scores sent out, or just the rushed ones?
They said they are going to get ALL scores out (not just the rushed ones) to do that they said they are now open tomorrow they said to call them if your scores are not sent by 4pm 866 756-7346
(This is ridiculous and very bad -almost fraudulent business practice. I am about to file a complaint with the better business bureau)
Just got this email from the college board.
Dear Student,
Processing of SAT® score report orders placed on or after Oct. 14 is taking longer than expected, and your score reports are among a set that have not yet been sent to colleges. This communication is most relevant for students who are using scores to meet immediate deadlines. We are working diligently to deliver all SAT score reports to colleges as soon as possible in order to meet college application deadlines. We will keep you updated on our progress.
In the meantime, we are reaching out to colleges with deadlines of Nov. 1 to make them aware of the circumstances and are encouraging them to be flexible should scores arrive late.
For colleges that allow self-reporting on their applications, you can view your scores online and provide them on the application.
We recognize the importance of timely score delivery and apologize for the inconvenience.
The College Board
We received the same email 2 days ago …Very frustrating, scores still pending … The worst part is I was told College Board email to the Universities said it was only affecting people who took the Oct SAT… (and that is not the case!!)… My son didn’t take Oct SAT he just was requesting June scores to be sent to college for application. The college sent an email out saying that they know its affecting those who took the Oct SAT and the Sept ACT … then email said nothing about the kids like my son who were just requesting previous scores to be sent out… The school said they were expecting a huge batch from College Board this morning… well its noon and my sons status still says pending…
Has anyone had their status change today?
Mine are still pending as well… I hate CB so much
This is ridiculous
