College Board SAT Score Use Practice states two versions for colleges that accept the highest section scores.

Am I correct in my interpretation of these versions?:

Version One: They will consider the highest section scores from all tests submitted, but will look at all section scores when making the final decision.... (Superscore Light?)

Version Two: Your folder will only display the highest scores from all tests submitted. When making the final admissions decision they will only see your highest scores. (Definite Superscore)

Any input is appreciated.

Thanks!

Love the terminology you’ve come up with!

Yes, that’s my understanding . . . although I can’t recall which is I and which is II, but I think you’re interpretation is correct.

Thanks dodgersmom. I know it seems obvious, but I think this college application season is getting to me! It’s my first ( as you can tell ) so I want to make sure that I get it right. Glad I don’t have to do this again for a few years! :)

It depends on the schools. Some would look deeply into section scores. In other words, having 700+800 is not the same as 800+700. Whatever way you call it, it does not matter, they look at the better scores of all takes if they do supercore, in individual section or composite.

billcsho - It does not “depend on the schools.” Each school that utilizes SAT scores has a fixed and published policy regarding its use of the scores.
